SVdP-Sonoma: a Lifeline for
the Poorest of the Poor

In the spirit of service, love and justice, and respecting the dignity of those we serve, St. Vincent de Paul Sonoma County (SVdP-Sonoma) provides compassionate, individualized assistance to help our neighbors-in-need obtain nutritious food, clothing, and many of life’s necessities while moving toward systemic change and solutions that help lift them out of poverty.

St. Vincent de Paul Sonoma County

(SVdP-Sonoma) was founded in 1958 as an independent non-profit organization. We are self-supporting and do not receive funding from the government or the local Catholic Archdiocese.

We offer a hand up to our neighbors in Sonoma County who are hungry, homeless and struggling.

We strongly believe that when one individual is nourished, housed, healthy and strong, we are all healthier and stronger; and when one family is headed down the road to independence, all of Sonoma is better off.

The Staff of SVdP-Sonoma

Meet the people who keep things running smoothly
at  St. Vincent de Paul Sonoma County.

Jack Tibbetts, Executive Director

Ever since being a student at Saint Eugene's Cathedral School, Jack has long held a passion for serving others, but homelessness in particular is near and dear to his heart. While Jack was in college, he setup a nonprofit, Warm for the Holidays, which partnered with local businesses to provide thousands of coats and jackets to Sonoma County's homeless every year. This experience immersed him in the day to day many people who are homeless face, and motivated him to serve this population. Jack loves the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul because he appreciates the anonymity and humility with which the SVdP serves the poor in our community.

Lonnie Rivas, Operations Manager

Lonnie has been with SVdP-Sonoma for 11 years and manages both the warehouse and Thrift Store in Rohnert Park. His partnerships with West County Community Services, The Department of Rehabilitation, and others provide a work site for disabled workers to receive on-the- job training while also providing much needed staff for the warehouse and Thrift Shop.

Jim Kelly
Dining Room Manager

Jim has been working at the Dining Room since 2004. He manages the day to day operations, volunteers and court ordered workers to make sure everything is in place to serve 250-350 people each day seeking a hot nutritious meal.
